How do I make an offer?

If you'd like to pay less than the asking price, you can make the seller an offer.

Make an offer

1. Open the listing and tap Make offer.

2. Enter your amount. It must be below the asking price and at least half of it.

3. Confirm. You'll see "Offer sent — the seller has 48 hours to respond".

The asking price is the price shown on the listing. If the item is on sale, that's the sale price.

What happens next

The seller has 48 hours to accept, decline or counter your offer.

• Accepted: you have 24 hours to buy the item at the agreed price.

• Declined: the offer ends. You can make a new offer.

• Countered: the seller suggests a different price. You then have 48 hours to accept, decline or counter back. See Accepting, declining and countering offers.

• No response: the offer expires after 48 hours.

Paying for an accepted offer

1. Tap Buy now on the listing or on the offer in Offers. The item goes into your cart at the agreed price, with the original price struck through.

2. Check out within 24 hours.

Rules and limits

Good to know

• You can withdraw your offer while the seller is still deciding. The seller then can't accept it.

• If the item sells to someone else or is taken off sale, your offer closes.

• If the seller drops the listing price below your agreed price, you simply pay the lower listing price.

• At checkout, buyer protection is worked out on the agreed price. Item discounts don't apply to an offer-priced item, but order discounts and free shipping can.

• You'll get in-app and push notifications as the offer progresses.
