Accepting, declining and countering offers
Updated 5 Oct 2026
An offer is a back-and-forth between a buyer and a seller. Only the person whose turn it is can respond.
Where to find your offers
Go to Offers, also in Profile under Buying. Switch between:
Sent: offers you've made as a buyer.
Received: offers buyers have made on your listings.
Each view has three tabs:
Offers: offers made by the buyer, including accepted ones.
Counter offers: counters from the seller.
Rejections: offers that were declined, withdrawn or closed.
The Offers row in your Profile shows a badge when an offer is waiting for you.
Responding when it's your turn
You have 48 hours to respond. You can:
Accept: the buyer then has 24 hours to pay the agreed price.
Decline: the negotiation ends.
Counter: suggest a different price. The other person then has 48 hours to respond.
There's no limit on the number of counter offers.
Counter offer rules
A seller's counter must be higher than the buyer's latest amount and lower than the asking price.
A buyer's counter must be lower than the seller's counter.
Every counter must be at least half the asking price.
If you'd counter with the same amount the other person suggested, accept it instead.
For sellers
Accepting an offer doesn't take your listing off sale. Until the buyer pays, anyone can still buy it at the full price.
If you change your listing price, existing offers aren't changed. You can't accept an offer that is no longer below your current price.
If you sell the item, unpublish it or remove it, any open offers on it close.
If you agree a price, the sale is paid out like any other sale, based on the agreed price.
