Using your points and when they expire
Updated 5 Oct 2026
You can use Yews Points towards anything on a future order: items, shipping and buyer protection. 10 points are worth R1.
Spend your points
At checkout, find the points switch under your payment method.
Turn it on. We use as many of your points as the order allows.
Your wallet (if you turn it on) and then your payment method pay whatever is left.
The points you use show as a line in the order summary.
When points expire
Points expire at the end of the sixth month after the month you earned them, South African time. For example, points earned on 15 March expire at the end of 30 September.
We'll email you a reminder about 7 days before points expire. When you spend points, the ones closest to expiring are used first.
Check your balance, history and upcoming expiry dates on Points.
If an order is cancelled or refunded
If an order you paid for partly with points is cancelled or refunded, those points come back to your balance. They keep their original expiry date, or last until the end of the following month if that's later. Points are never refunded as cash.
Good to know
Points have no cash value. They can't be withdrawn, transferred or exchanged for money.
If you close your Yews account, any unspent points are lost.
