Buying an item with your cart and checkout
Updated 5 Oct 2026
Every item on Yews is a single, unique item, so there's only ever one of each.
Add to cart or buy now
On a listing you can tap Add to cart to keep shopping, or Buy now to go straight to checkout.
You have one cart per store. Items from the same store go into the same cart and are checked out together as one order with one delivery. If you're buying from two different stores, you'll check out each cart separately. See all your carts in Cart.
Adding an item to your cart doesn't reserve it. Someone else can still buy it until you place your order.
Check out
At checkout, work from top to bottom:
Items: check what you're buying.
Shipping method: choose how you'd like to receive your order, for example a Pudo locker, Pudo to your door or local pickup. You'll see the price for each option. See Delivery options.
Delivery address: choose a saved Pudo locker or door address, or add a new one. Local pickup doesn't need an address.
Payment method: choose a saved card or a new card. See Paying for an order.
Points and wallet: if you have Yews Points or money in your wallet, you can use them to pay for part or all of the order.
Buyer protection: on by default. See Buyer protection.
Discount code: enter a store's code if you have one. See Using a discount code.
Check the order summary and pay.
What you pay
The order summary shows each part of the total:
Line | What it is |
|---|---|
Items | The price of your items |
Discounts | Any store discounts that apply |
Shipping | The delivery price for the option you chose |
Buyer protection | 5% of the item price after discounts, with a minimum of R10, if you keep it on |
Points and Wallet | What you're paying with points or your wallet balance |
Total | What your payment method is charged |
If points and your wallet cover everything, the button reads Place order and no card payment is needed.
Finishing your payment
When you place your order, the items are reserved for you while you pay. You have 30 minutes to complete payment. If you don't, the order is released and the items go back on sale.
If you leave before paying, open the order from Orders and tap Resume payment, or Cancel order if you've changed your mind.
If a payment goes through after your order has expired or been cancelled, the amount is credited to your Yews wallet.
After you've paid
Your order is confirmed and the seller is told to send it. Follow it from Orders. See Tracking your order.
